Rolling Stones: A Retrospective 1962-2012

They were not only a band that wrote and performed great songs; they were also at the forefront of a movement in the Sixties that believed music could change the world.

But the Stones’ brand of revolution was confrontational, to say the least. While flower-power bands preached peace and love, these raunchy rockers were down and dirty, pulling no lyrical punches as to what they were after (satisfaction) and how they intended to get it (spending the night together).

They weren’t averse to a bit of street fighting, either.

So is the show finally over? Will they ever play together again? This is a question only Jagger and Richards, the self-styled ‘Glimmer Twins’, can answer.

But one thing is for certain. The songs they wrote and performed will be heard at discos, danced to at parties, covered by bar bands and enjoyed by millions of fans worldwide for as long as music is played.
